Word from the editor

Dear CyberAgent user,

Let me start this month with a word of thanks. Heaps of congratulations streamed on when our users read about the Computerworld Honors Program and the recognition we received for our cutting-edge technology in the category Finance/Insurance/Real Estate. Thank you!

Real estate agents can have fun! How? By relaxing, by competing only with yourself and to be innovative. This is only three of the tips we are sharing with you this month.

Innovative – “The act of introducing something new” In today's property game, estate agents need any advantage they can get in order to secure more mandates and to work more efficiently, especially since the residential property sector has become a buyers market and prices are cooling off. Through our CyberAgent Mobile application we have been innovative. We have introduced something new; mobility for the Real Estate Agent. Estate agents who are interested in improving profits and productivity through technology can now catch more than a glimpse of the future, by visiting

This is where we as CyberAgent endeavor to give you maximum exposure. Your properties are advertised on the following websites:

Keep me Informed

Visitors to your website may not allways find what they're looking for, but they usually would like to somehow enter their search criteria (ie: looking for a 2 bedroom flat in Centurion for under R3,500 per month). They're expecting to hear from you as soon as something like this becomes available.

The "Keep Me Informed" service will SMS and email the site visitor as soon as you load a new property onto your website that match their search criteria!

This is all automated and it's available to you RIGHT NOW! Simply request this service to be activated on your website. Contact us at or phone us on 086-11-CYBER.

10 Ways to Have Fun in Real Estate

by Vanessa Puleo

Let's face it - the real estate business can get a little difficult at times. This is a perfect time for us to take a step back and remember why most of us got into this industry in the first place. When you embarked on this adventure of selling real estate, were you hoping that it would provide you with the flexible schedule, great income potential and possible a little fun?! Below are just 10 tips on how to keep the business fun...

1. Relax.

Real estate is not life-or-death surgery. We are in the people business, and can only do the best possible job at all times. You will find that most "problems" take care of themselves in time no matter what you do.

2. Treat problems as puzzles.

Real estate is not brain surgery, it's brain aerobics. You have the solution for every puzzle in real estate; your success is the measure of how well you solve the puzzles that come your way.

3. Compete only with yourself.

Your personal best sets the standard for you. Challenge yourself, not others, because when you work to improve your own score, everyone else is a potential friend rather than a competitor.

4. Become and stay productive.

Real estate is not a sprint, it's more of an endurance race. Find your best pace and stay with it, and the business will come. The very best way to have fun is to be doing enough business that you don't have time to feel bad about what you aren't doing.

5. Innovate.

Make yourself genuinely distinctive. Put your personal stamp on everything you do, and you will achieve market recognition.

6. Real Estate is a "contact" sport.

Contacts lead to relationships which are the basis for success in sales. Make contacts wherever you go. The more people who know the more business you will do and the more fun it is.

7. Include your family in your business.

Real estate is a lifestyle that must include those you love the most. You will be surprised at what can happen when you interest your significant others in your plans to attain success.

8. Participate.

Join in the office culture and camaraderie. Don't just watch from the sidelines! Being in the game is much more fun.

9. Hang out with positive people.

Simply make the decision to focus your time on the positive people in your life & office. The people who laugh at themselves, not at others. Make an effort to do things that make you smile, including who you are spending time with.

10. If you're not having fun, you're not doing it right.

This is the ultimate test. If you're not having fun, you're probably taking it too seriously. Remember, real estate is not brain surgery - it's brain exercise. It might make you sweat, but it is still a great game!
