Newsletter - November 2012
Word from the editor

Dear CyberAgent user,

I am sure that after last month’s newsletter you now all have your Winning Proposition for 2013. If you have missed out on this newsletter you can find it on our website under “Newsletters”.

I have just completed a self-study course on social media and was astonished with what I have learned. The bottom line, social media is here to stay and you better make sure that you are part of it before the end of 2012 or you will be social media illiterate.

Nielsen found that nearly a quarter of all Internet usage is spending time on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and others. This is double the amount of users spending time on gaming websites. In other words the net is split between online users perusing social media sites and those playing games online.

Facebook reached the 1 billion active users mark last month and is by far the most recognizable social media brand. Here is 5 tips on how you can make your Facebook work for your business;

  • Design – Keep it simple and give it the right name
  • Marketing - Include your Facebook fan page in your marketing and advertising
  • Invite - Initiate if you want to make connections quickly. If you “like” others they will return the favour and “like” your page
  • Work smartly - Plan ahead and make use of the available applications that can help you to make your website more dynamic and functional
  • Engage – Offer interesting reading, update regularly and engage with your followers and you will benefit shortly

It came under our attention that very few of our CyberAgent users are using the advert generator module in their CyberAgent applications. Read more about how this powerful module can make your daily tasks so much easier, From our developers

We are now planning phase 2 of the marketing of Don’t be surprise to hear the all too familiar jingle on the radio when driving around this holiday.

Social media

Finding social-media advice online is as easy as finding cars in a parking lot. Which is to say, there are plenty of gurus and experts hoping to teach you how to maximize your potential and rack up huge numbers of followers and fans. But – despite their expertise and savvy – the best advice is usually just common sense. To that end, we’ve compiled 9 common sense tips to help you become a more successful and effective social-media marketer.

Invalid prices when listing properties

We have found that there are CyberAgent users who doesn’t list their properties correctly. One of the major problems is invalid prices; houses in areas like Sandton that are listed with a purchase price of R 20,00.

Please attend to this as a matter of urgency as number 1 your properties will not be listed on or our affiliated websites and number 2 your will lose credibility in the eyes of your clients.

Ensure the correct fields are being used when listing as; For Sale, To Rent or Both: See below

Q&A Section

Q: What is the Tivvit support ticket system and how does it work?

A: At Tivvit we use a software called P.I.M.P. This stands for (Processing Information More Practically)

This system is what houses the database of all of our clients queries. We use it to keep track of and to make remarks on what is currently going on with each clients query. It also allows us to draw up a history of past queries in case of any disputes.

We encourage you to send all queries directly to, your query then gets logged on the P.I.M.P and is forwarded to the first available support person. Do not send queries directly to an individual support person as they might not always be available and your queries will not be solved as efficiently as possible.

Once a query is logged on the P.I.M.P. you will receive an email with a ticket number on it, you can then call our support staff on (011)955-9100 and quote your ticket number to enquire about the progress on your outstanding query.

By following these steps in the future your queries will be handled more efficiently.

Should you experience any problems or have any questions, please contact our support desk on

EAAB – Fidelity Fund Certificate Renewals for 2013

As part of the Estate Agency Affairs Board statutory mandate and legislation, it is the requirement of all estate agents wishing to operate within the real estate property industry to be in possession of a valid Fidelity Fund Certificate (FFC).

The validity of a FFC is 01 January of a year to 31 December of the same year and estate agents are therefore required to renew by no later than 31 October of each year to obtain a FFC for the following year.

IEASA – Institute of Estate Agents of South Africa

Johalna Minnaar, president of the Institute of Estate Agents of South Africa (IEASA) is pleased to announce that the pending restructuring of the real estate industry into separate bodies for business and labour is very much on track behind the scenes. She indicated that; “This means that in future the separate bodies will look at issues more exclusively from the perspective of the particular sector that it serves.” She therefore reiterates, as per former press releases, that individual estate agents will have to become active participants in the industry in order to assist in positive decision making on issues that are agent specific.
